Stanker & Galetto, a leading general contracting firm in southern New Jersey, joined in the ceremonial opening for Bridor USA, a French bakery with plants in France, Canada and the United States.
This is the commercial baker’s largest in-line pastry production operation in the United States. The line is housed in a $32 million, 42,000-square-foot addition to the company’s plant on Industrial Way in Vineland. The plant here is the company’s only facility in the United States, and employs about 175 people.
“This expansion represents our commitment to the U.S. market,” said Jean-Francois Duquesne, CEO of Bridor Inc. and Bridor USA Inc. “The demand for our products continues to increase as retailers and food service operators discover how Bridor meets their needs for premium products that consistently deliver 100 percent quality.”
According to company officials, Bridor plans to significantly increase its sales staff in the United States and further expansion at the Vineland location could be on the horizon. Bridor produces more than 100 varieties of croissants, sweet and savory pastries, and breads. Bloomberg Businessweek reported Bridor’s par-baked and frozen products are sold to grocery chains, hotels and restaurants.
“We chose Stanker & Galetto because one of their core competencies is food manufacturing,” said Duquesne. “In the commercial baking space alone, they have supported several large companies with construction and expansion projects that put them in position to be successful.”
“Bridor’s position as a world-class manufacturer of fine French pastries and breads is evident in every aspect of this project,” said Peter Galetto, President of Stanker & Galetto. “Driven to meet the high demand for their superior products, the Bridor leadership requested that we complete the project ahead of schedule. At the same time, it was critical that we support and maintain the company’s internal standards of quality throughout the construction process. We are proud to have been able to meet those expectations, which will benefit both Bridor and its customers. It was a pleasure to be part of such a successful project.”
