Description:
Specialty foods manufacturing facility.
The largest industrial construction project in southern New Jersey in 2011, this 50,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art gluten-free baking facility was built with load-bearing precast wall panels and includes raw material storage, clean room, production area with freezer storage facility, loading docks, and administrative offices. The production area includes seamless epoxy floor with concrete curb and cove base at the perimeter.
Special Characteristics and Challenges
Building construction materials such as precast concrete insulated wall panels, insulated metal wall and ceiling panels, and white TPO roofing with insulation were incorporated for sustainability, to improve the energy efficiency of the building envelope and reduce energy costs.
The project execution required a great deal of forethought and knowledge of the needs of a baking production facility. The challenge was to provide a building that could accept different types of equipment, since none of the equipment was purchased until after construction was 50% complete. This challenged our design team to provide the general utilities in the areas where they could be accessed and utilized efficiently.
“Stanker & Galetto was the ideal partner to help us build this magnificent facility in New Jersey. Building a plant of this size with an international team of professionals is a challenging task, but Stanker & Galetto met our project timelines and enabled us to open this ‘state of the art’ plant on schedule.”
