This 41,800 SF state-of-the-art freezer in Vineland, NJ, was constructed for tenant RLS Logistics. RLS stores and ships frozen foods to customers nationwide and had outgrown its existing warehouse space.
Completed in July 2014, the building includes 34,000 SF of freezer storage and a 7,800 SF loading dock, with 1,100 SF of office space inside the loading dock. The warehouse has heated floors to keep the concrete from buckling in the zero-degree atmosphere. Using a warm slab below the insulation keeps the ground from freezing, but does not let warmth seep into the building.
Stanker & Galetto found it to be most economical to build vertically and designed the building with an eave height of 53’. The rack storage tops out at 49’-1”, and includes six vertical pallet positions, taking advantage of the latest material handling equipment and to reduce energy consumption.
